Since the earliest days of asbestos replacement programmes in the automotive brake industry, Dupré Vermiculite has worked closely with the Research and Development departments of Europe's major brake linings manufacturers on projects involving the uses of exfoliated vermiculite in friction linings.

Over the years Dupré has defined friction market needs, and refined manufacturing processes and quality control procedures to meet those needs. Supplying high quality vermiculite to customers specifications, Dupré enjoys 'Category A' or 'Preferred Supplier' status in the brake linings market.
Fibre free and completely safe, the benefits of using vermiculite in brake lining formulations are now clearly understood, and it's usage well established. During the mixing process, the use of vermiculite helps to achieve a more homogenous mix. A high temperature insulant, vermiculite provides useful thermal resistance, and due to the platey nature and surface characteristic of the material, it tends to lock together under compression during wet or dry, cold or hot processes, to form an effective platform for the matrix or other materials in the formulation.

Dupré Vermiculite supply exfoliated vermiculite in five different standard grades, and to customer's specific requirements of bulk density, particle size distribution and moisture content. Ground or micronised vermiculite powders can be produced to specification as required.
